Falcon is the most famous carving among the numerous Sasano wood-carving in Yonezawa City.

So traditional, stylish and presentable as a gift or souvenir of high standards.

Villagers at Sasano town have been farming folks with the craft of carving as their most ancient
second job. Takagi tree (soft wood) are used for the carving. You can see the craftmen at work
and it is quite impressive how they carve and paint the dolls, flowers, falcons etc.

I had the opportunity to paint my own falcon, the outcome was horrible and so i cannot show you.
Try your hands at it when you visit. Show me how good you are with paint brush and carvings.
