This rice paddy art began in 1993 and each year these farmers plant rice plants of different colors to create new artworks which last all through the growing season until the time of harvest. The  rice paddy tells different stories and emotions. We were lucky to see two different rice paddy art sites. One told the love story of 'Suikatarou' and 'tuyahime'; and the other showed support to Kumamoto prefecture. Rice paddy art combines art with agriculture. It demonstrates the wisdom of the farmers.
