Snow/ Samurai

samurai

In winter, Akita is covered deep with snow. The landscape captivates not only tourists from outside but also the people who are living in Akita. The snowy landscape of serene stillness is without a doubt something special Akita has to offer. The old samurai town of Kakunodate, which has more than 400 years of history, is famous for its beautiful cherry blossoms in spring. Winter also exhibits an equivalent scenery with beautiful layers of sheer white snow. You may wonder how Samurais had enjoyed the winter when it was much more difficult to make it through the severe cold season. To find out, let’s experience the winter Samurai life as if you really became samurai yourself.
