After purchasing a ticket with five (540 yen) or ten (1080 yen) paper slips, the costumers can exchange the paper slips against rice bowl toppings according to their own preference. First, one or two paper slips, depending on the size of the portion, have to be exchanged for a bowl of rice. Then, the visitors can top their rice bowls with fish or vegetables from other participating stands for usually 1-3 paper slips for a topping. The various types of seafood are very fresh and depend on their daily availability. Some stands also offer vegetables for the topping or hot soup, which comes just right, during a cold winter day. After creating a rice bowl of your choice, you can enjoy your lunch at one of the resting areas all around the market.
