In Aomori, there are different Nebuta festivals. But the most special one is Tachinebuta!

A Tachinebuta is usually taller than 10 meters, about 4 to 5 floors high. But you may feel neck a little bit painful because of looking up to the tall Tachinebuta.

Due to really tall Tachinebuta, the designers usually make Tachinebutas’ face looking down so that the audience could see more clearly.

The Tachineputa Museum is also a place where new Tachineputa will be made. After main designers make the outline, the residents can come to the museum to help stick paper on the outline.

This is the only female Tachinebuta for the past years; and the reason is so interesting that designers think it looks like wrinkles on the face when the light makes the shadow of wires.

In the Tachineputa Museum, you can experience making a small Nebuta Golden fish. At first, you will have a original Nebuta outline; after drafting, putting on wax, and painting, and then you can bring your own DIY Nebuta home.
